Lake Tahoe has a rich history. For many years, the shores of Lake Tahoe have attracted millions of visitors from around the world. It all started with Washoe Native American Indians some 10,000
years ago. Each summer the Washoe migrated from the Carson Valley- Reno area seeking cooler temperatures, abundant fish and plentiful game on the shores of Lake Tahoe. "Da-ow-a-ga" was
the Washoe Indian name for Lake Tahoe which was considered the jewel of the Sierra and the birthplace of their heritage.

Today, the Lake Tahoe region continues to offer visitors a glimpse of many historic eras. While hotel/casinos and ski resorts draw millions of guests each year, the main attraction continues to be
the quiet beauty of the Sierra Mountains and the timeless inspiration of the lake itself, little changed from the days of the Washoe Indians.

Take the opportunity to visit this natural wonder and spend the day exploring the area. See million dollar mansions, Emerald Bay, unique shopping and gourmet dining, skiing, water sports and
more! A don’t miss adventure while in Tahoe is the opportunity to take a scenic helicopter flight! The view from above is awe inspiring and the experience is second to none!  Flying in a helicopter
over Lake Tahoe is without a doubt the best way to see the beauty of the region!

America’s Adventure Center can help you plan the perfect day in Lake Tahoe. From family activities to exciting adventures, we have the suggestions you’re looking for.
